Gene Information

human ... GNL3(26354)

General description

Ipaf, also known as NLRC4, is a human CED-4 homologue and is thought to be an activator of pro-caspase-1 and might also be associated with the activation of caspase-1 as a response to pro-inflammatory and apoptotic stimulus. It has been shown to be induced by p53 and contributes to p53-dependent apoptosis. Ipaf is thought to play a role in the activation of the innate immune system.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes Ipaf at the LRR4 domain.

Immunogen

Epitope: LRR4 domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Ipaf (NLRC4) at the LRR4 domain.

The NLRP3 inflammasome is a well-studied target for the treatment of multiple inflammatory diseases, but how to promote the current therapeutics remains a large challenge. CRISPR/Cas9, as a gene editing tool, allows for direct ablation of NLRP3 at the genomic

In neutrophils, caspase-11 cleaves gasdermin D (GSDMD), causing pyroptosis to clear cytosol-invasive bacteria. In contrast, caspase-1 also cleaves GSDMD but seems to not cause pyroptosis. Here, we show that this pyroptosis-resistant caspase-1 activation is specifically programmed by the site of
