Features and Benefits
Amino-dPEG36-OH, also known as Amino-dPEG36-alcohol, is a very long (109 atoms, 127.7 Å) monodispersed PEGylation reagent functionalized with a primary amine on one end of the molecule that reacts with carboxylic acids, aldehydes, and ketones. Reacting the amine group with carboxylic acids yields stable amides while reacting the amine group with aldehydes and ketones forms Schiff bases that are reducible to secondary amines for stability. If needed, various functional and reactive groups can modify the terminal alcohol on the opposite end of the molecule to provide the dPEG product with additional reactivity or crosslinking capability. dPEG36 is a monodisperse equivalent of the polymeric PEG1500. Amino-dPEG36-OH can be used for passivation of carboxylate-functionalized surfaces. The non-immunogenic terminal alcohol of the PEG chain imparts hydrophilicity to the conjugate molecule or surface. Consequently, conjugate molecules are water-soluble.
