General description

Leptin is an adipokine secreted by the adipose tissue. It is also found in the primary and secondary lymphoid organs. Leptin has a 3D structure made up of four α-helix bundle motifs. It participates in regulating neuroendocrine function and energy homeostasis. Leptin also participates in physiological processes such as reproduction, angiogenesis, and hemopoiesis. Rat Leptin enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit is used for the non-radioactive quantification of leptin in rat sera. Plasma samples may also be used but application to samples of other biological fluids may need validation by the user.

Application

Rat Leptin ELISA kit has been used in the determination of leptin from rat serum and plasma samples.
