Application
Bromopentacarbonylmanganese(I) can be used as:
- A precursor to synthesize manganese complex, [Mn(CO)5H], which was then used as a catalyst in the reduction of levulinic acid (LA) to methyltetrahydrofuran (MTHF) and the reductive amination of LA to N-substituted pyrrolidines.
- A precursor to prepare Mn(I) complexes bearing bifunctional ligands, which are used as catalysts for the transfer-hydrogenation of various ketones and imines using 2-propanol as the hydrogen donor.
- A catalyst in the selective C2-H activation reactions.

We report on the synthesis of new manganese carbonyls-based materials prepared using gamma-rays radiation (at doses of 10 and 40 kGy) as energy source. Characterization was achieved using nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, differential scan calorimetry
