General description

The Receptor Binding Domain (RBD) protein is a subunit of the S1 Spike protein of SARS-CoV-2. Studies indicate that it is strongly immunogenic and can elicit a strong humoral response with rises in titer of specific antibodies post-infection with the virus. IgM antibodies specific to RBD have been demonstrated in several studies as playing a meaningful role in the study of SARS-CoV-2 disease progression.
