General description

Caspase-1 (ICE, interleukin-1b-converting enzyme) is the mammalian caspase responsible for the proteolytic conversion of the proforms of interleukin-1b and IL-18 into active cytokines. Like other caspases, caspase-1 itself is synthesized as a proenzyme that is cleaved during activation into large (20 kDa) and small (10 kDa) subunits.

Specificity

AB1871 recognizes the 45 kDa procaspase-1 as well as the 20 kDa cleaved caspase-1.

Application

This Anti-Caspase 1 Antibody is validated for use in IF, IP, WB for the detection of Caspase 1.
Western blot: 1-4 μg/mL

Immunoprecipitation: 4-8 μg/mL

Immunofluorescence: 10-20 μg/mL

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Physical form

Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.
