General description

Anti-Doublecortin, Cat. No. AB2253, is a guinea pig polyclonal antibody that detects Doublecortin and is tested for use in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) and Immunofluorescence, and Western Blotting.
Target molecular weight ~42 kDa observed;40.61 kDa calculated. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Specificity

Reactivity with other species has not been determined.
This Guinea pig polyclonal antibody detects doublecortin in murine and rat species. It targets an epitope with in 17 amino acids from the C-terminal region.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-Terminus
Recombinant Peptide.

Application

Anti-Doublecortin Antibody has been used in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Doublecortin (DCX) is identified as an important marker for neurogenesis. It serves as a valuable tool for studying and comparing the process of neurogenesis across different species.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in rat brain tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected Doublecortin in rat brain tissue lysate.

Target description

~45 kDa observed; 40.57 kDa calculated. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Analysis Note

Control
Rat Brain lysate.
