General description
Palladium on alumina (Pd/Al2O3) (0.5 wt % loading, spheres) is a widely utilized catalyst that can be prepared by wet impregnation of alumina pellets with palladium chloride. It can also be prepared by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) by utilizing the precursor solution of aluminum sec-butoxide and palladium acetylacetonate.
Application
Pd/Al2O3 can be used as a catalyst in the enantioselective hydrogenation reaction. It can also be potentially used in the formation of an automotive catalytic converter to improve the air quality of urban environments.
