General description

Dimethylaminomethyl-polystyrene, also known as benzyldimethylamine, is a polystyrene-supported resin crosslinked with divinylbenzene that is commonly used in solution phase peptide synthesis.

Application

Dimethylaminomethyl-polystyrene is used as a resin to synthesize hydrophobic dipeptides such as bis-phenylalanines that can be used in the study of peptide and protein aggregation. Additionally, it can also be utilized for neutralizing acidic solution in a reaction mixture due to its proton reactive nature.
