General description

The evolution of our understanding of pluripotent and adult stem cell biology requires specific research tools to permit the characterization, isolation, and expansion of stem cells. HESCA-1, developed in collaboration with Abeome Corporation, is the first in a series of novel, human embyronic stem cell antibodies produced to provide scientists with those needed tools. This novel monoclonal antibody recognizes a newly discovered 200 kDa cell surface protein that has been shown to be expressed in pluripotent human embryonic stem cell (hESC) populations.

Specificity

Reactivity to other species has not been determined.
This antibody is positive by immunofluorescence against H1, BG-01, BG01v, and BF02 human embryonic stem (hES) cell lines; however, it is unreactive for differentiated stem cells in teratomas and common feeder lines such as MEF, D-551, and Hs27. Reactivity with other hES lines has not yet been determined.

Immunogen

BG01v hES cell line

Application

Detect HESCA-1 (Human Embryonic Stem Cell Antigen-1) using this Anti-HESCA-1 Antibody, clone 051007-4A5 validated for use in IC, IH, IF, FC.
