General description

Peptone from meat is widely used in industrial microbiology as a nutrient source for the growth of microorganisms in large-scale fermentation processes. Peptone from meat is a water-soluble protein hydrolysate obtained by the proteolytic digestion of meat sources and used as a nutrient source in microbial culture media. Application

The high sulphur content makes meat peptone suitable for the detection of bacteria producing hydrogen sulfide.
