General description

Digestion of IgG by papain results in generation of fragment antigen binding (Fab), comprising of one complete L chain and a variable and CH1 region of H chain. Pepsin digestion of IgG results in fragment crystallizable (fc), comprising of the H chain constant region. IgG1 is the most abundant antibody and its deficiency results in hypogammaglobulinemia. IgG2 deficiency increases susceptibility to bacterial infections. IgG3 mediates effector functions and IgG4 is associated with asymptomatic infection. IgG antibody has enormous therapeutic potential and the Fc region is used for the development of therapeutic antibodies.
This product is prepared by labeling high quality F(ab′)2 fragment of goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L) with the green fluorescent dye CF488A. CF488A is a superior alternative to the traditional green fluorescent dye FITC (or fluorescein) owing to its exceptional brightness and photostability. CF488A is comparably bright and photostable to Alexa Fluor 488. However, antibody conjugates prepared from CF488A are more specific than those prepared from Alexa Fluor 488 because CF488A, being minimally charged, does not significantly change the isoelectric points of antibodies as Alexa Fluor 488 does.

Specificity

Binds with whole molecule mouse IgG and the light chains of other mouse immunoglobulins.

Application

Anti-Mouse IgG (H+L), F(ab?)2 fragment, CF488A antibody produced in goat has been used in the detection of CF488 in human cell lines using confocal fluorescence microscopy and in vinculin cytoskeleton using confocal immunofluorescence imaging.
