General description
PAMAM dendrimer is a symmetrical polymer with a large number of terminal groups that can easily bind to biomolecules due to their biocompatibility and affinity. These dendrimers have a multivalent surface that contains envelopes and various active sites at the core with the attached dendrons. They are highly branched nanoscale polymers that are extensively used in the field of biomedicine for targeted drug delivery.
Application
PAMAM dendrimers can be used as transfection agents for the delivery of nucleic acids. For example, it can be used in the pulmonary delivery of siRNA directed against tumor necrosis factor (TNF).
