General description

CD73, also known as Ecto-5′-nucleotidase, catalyzes the conversion of purine 5′ mononucleotides to nucleosides, the preferred substrate being AMP. The enzyme consists of a dimer of 2 identical 70-kD subunits bound by a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol linkage to the external face of the plasma membrane. The enzyme is used as a marker of lymphocyte differentiation, being expressed on subsets of B-cells and T-cells. CD73 is also a marker of undifferentiated mesenchymal stem cells and is often used to identified stem cell populations.

Immunogen

Whole Mouse Dermal Lymphatic Endothelial Cells (DLEC)

Application

Evaluated by Immunocytochemistry on human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Immunocytochemical analysis: A 1:50 dilutions of this antibody detected CD73 on 1X10^6 human adipose and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.
