General description

It is Pd EnCat® catalyst, wherein palladium acetate and 1,1′-binaphthalene-2,2′-diylbis(diphenylphosphine) (BINAP) are microencapsulated within a polyurea matrix, which prevents palladium leaching.

Application

Features and Benefits

The advantage of Pd EnCat® catalysts are:
  • Low residual metal levels in crude product.
  • Easy recovery of catalyst.
  • Compatibility of immobilized metal with various ligands to effect C–C bond forming reactions.
  • Safer and easier to handle than Pd/C for hydrogenation.
  • Efficiency and economy gains through recovery and recycling.
