MF has been used to produce methanamide, N, N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl carbonate, methyl glycolate, acetic acid, ethylene glycol, methyl methacrylate, and high-purity CO. Additionally, MF can be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate.
