It undergoes substitution reaction with LiCu(CH₃)₂, LiCu₂(CH₃)₃, Li₂Cu(CH₃)₃, LiCu(CH₃)₃, Li₂Cu(CH₃)₃, Li₂Cu₃(CH₃)₅ and CH₃Li to afford n-undecane (in different yields). 1-Fluorodecane is identified as one of the bio-active compound in the ethanol extract of the stem-bark of Albizia chevalieri and Bridelia ferruginea by GS-MS analysis.
