Application

Diethyl phthalate (DEP) is a phthalic anhydride ester (PAE) that can be used as a solvent in cosmetics and as a plasticizer in chemical industries. This synthetic material is widely used as a plastic additive to improve the mechanical properties, transparency, durability, longevity, and flexibility of plastics. DEP can also be used in a variety of consumer products like plastic packaging films and as a fragrance solvent, a surface lubricant in food and pharmaceutical packaging, mosquito repellents and automobile parts.
