General description

Benzyl acetates are generally used as flavoring agents and preservatives. They find applications in foods and beverages, drugs, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Application

Benzyl acetate has been used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte in e-cigarette refill solutions as flavoring additives and in muskmelon and watermelon fruits as aromatic agents by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and in scented consumer products as odor compounds by gas chromatography-olfactometry (GC-O).
