phosphorylation (pThr497)

General description

Protein kinase C is a member of the cAMP-dependent, cGMP-dependent, and protein kinase C (AGC) superfamily of protein kinases. It has more than14 isoforms. A catalytic domain with an ATP binding site and a substrate-binding site is found in all PKC isoforms.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human PKC-pan around the phosphorylation site of Thr497.

Immunogen Range: 623-672

Application

Anti-phospho-PKC-pan (pThr497) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blot analysis (1:500).

Biochem/physiol Actions

Protein kinase Cs (PKCs) are involved in the growth and function of the gastrointestinal tract and the immune response. PKCs regulates cyclins, cyclin-dependent kinases (cdks), cdk inhibitors, and cell division cycle 25 (cdc25) phosphatases.

Previous studies have demonstrated that monochromatic light affects plasma melatonin (MEL) levels, which in turn regulates hepatic insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) secretion via the Mel1c receptor. However, the intracellular signaling pathway initiated by Mel1c remains unclear. In this study
