General description

Vesicular Glutamate Transporter 2 (VGLUT2) is a sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter that is involved in the calcium dependent glutamate release from astrocytes. It is expressed in only a subset of neurons, localized to synaptic vesicles, at synapses exhibiting classical excitatory features. VGLUT2 mRNA is found in brain regions that lack VGLUT1, a related protein also displaying sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter activity.

Specificity

Reacts with VGLUT2 (Vesicular Glutamate Transporter 2).

Application

Detect Vesicular Glutamate Transporter 2 using this Anti-Vesicular Glutamate Transporter 2 Antibody validated for use in WB, IH.
Immunohistochemistry: A 1:50-1:300 dilution of a previous lot worked using ABC with NiDAB on floating mouse brain sections.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot on Mouse brain lysates.

Western Blotting Analysis: 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected VGLUT2 on 10 µg of Mouse brain lysates.
