General description

Dowex 21K XLT is a strong basic anionic exchange resin, which selectively adsorbs gold-cyanide complex. Dowex is used as a solid acid catalyst in organic synthesis. Dowex polymer is highly efficient solid acid catalyst for the regioselective ring opening of epoxides to β-hydroxy thiocyanates.

Application

  • Dowex 21K XLT was used to detect the existence of gold-cyanide complex using Scanning electron microscopy and Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.
  • Dowex 21K XLT was used to remove excess amount of arsenate during the analysis of arsines using atomic fluorescence spectrometer.

We identified the first enzymes that use mycothiol and mycoredoxin in a thiol/disulfide redox cascade. The enzymes are two arsenate reductases from Corynebacterium glutamicum (Cg_ArsC1 and Cg_ArsC2), which play a key role in the defense against arsenate. In vivo knockouts
