human ... Serpin A1(5265)
General description
The gene AAT (α 1 antitrypsin) is mapped to human chromosome 14q32.1.[1] AAT is an acute-phase plasma protein.[2] It is a water soluble glycoprotein. AAT is mainly secreted by hepatocytes, macrophages, and some cancer cells.[3] AAT is also referred to as Serpin A1.

What is the correct molecular weight for alpha 2 antiplasmin?
1 answer-
The predicted molecular weight of human alpha-2 antiplasmin, based on its amino acid sequence, is approximately 50,500. However, when 11-14% carbohydrate content is considered, the molecular weight increases to a maximum of about 58,000. Despite this, physical measurements of the molecular weight have varied from 63,000 to 70,500.
