Gene Information

human ... PTPN7(5778)

General description

PTPN7 gene is preferentially expressed in a variety of hematopoietic cells, and is an early response gene in lymphokine stimulated cells. The noncatalytic N-terminus of this PTP can interact with MAP kinases and negatively regulates ERK2 and p38 MAP-kinases activity. The PTPN7 was shown to be involved in the regulation of T cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling, which was thought to function through dephosphorylating the molecules related to MAP kinase pathway.

Leukocyte protein tyrosine phosphatase (LC-PTP)/hemopoietic PTP is a human cytoplasmic PTP that is predominantly expressed in the hemopoietic cells. Recently, it was reported that hemopoietic PTP inhibited TCR-mediated signal transduction. However, the precise mechanism of the inhibition was not identified.

HePTP is a tyrosine specific protein phosphatase that is strongly expressed in activated T-cells. It was recently demonstrated that in transfected T-cells HePTP impairs TCR-mediated activation of the MAP-kinase family members ERK2 and p38 and it was suggested that both

Protein-tyrosine phosphatase (PTP)-related complementary DNAs from NALM-6 (pre-B cell line) were amplified by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction using primers corresponding to the conserved catalytic domains of PTPs. Thirty-three polymerase chain reaction products, identified as PTP related complementary DNAs, were
