General description

Enhanced arylsulfatase is a recombinantly expressed form of the arylsulfatase found in Pseudomonas arigenosa, with introduced mutations for more efficient catalysis of steroidal sulfate esters. It is useful for sample preparation of urine metabolites (sulfated drug and endogenous conjugates) before analysis by HPLC and/or Mass Spec. It will hydrolyze sulfoconjugates to improve retention time and consolidate parent analyte peaks on HPLC.

Application

Useful for endogenous and xenobiotic and drug metabolite analysis.

Biochem/physiol Actions

(Aryl)sulfatases are used by the body for the catabolism of sulfated compounds, which play a crucial role in a number of physiological processes. Some examples include sulfated glucosaminoglycans like heparin, hyaluronan and chondroitin. This particular arylsulfatase is derived from microbial source and is used as a tool for processing sulfated metabolites, rather than for its physiological purpose.

Physical form

Supplied as buffered solution containing 20 mM Hepes pH7.8, 150 mM NaCl, 10% v/v Glycerol and 0.5 mM CaCl2.
