General description

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV (CAMK4) is a multifunctional serine/threonine protein kinase. It is present in cells of the nervous and immune systems. This gene is located on human chromosome 5q22.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CaMK4 around the phosphorylation site of Thr196/200.

Immunogen Range: 166-215

Biochem/physiol Actions

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase 4 (CAMK4) controls blood pressure. This protein plays a major role in the spermatogenesis by phosphorylating protamines.. It controls vascular tone. Absence of CaMK4 gene promotes hypertension.
