General description

Zinc finger CCHC domain-containing protein 6 (ZCCHC6) is an mRNA uridylating enzyme which possesses two PAP (poly(A) polymerase)-associated domains and two nucleotidyl transferase motifs.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

Zinc finger CCHC domain-containing protein 6 (ZCCHC6) uridylates precursor micro RNAs (miRNAs) and helps to restore the two-nucleotide 3′ overhang. This in turn aids in the biogenesis of miRNA.
