Application

5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl β-D-glucuronide sodium salt has been used:
  • as a component in β-glucuronidase (GUS) assay buffer for histochemical GUS assay[1]
  • to prepare X-Gluc or GUS staining solution[2][3]
  • to confirm GUS expression in samples by X-gluc staining[4]

Biochem/physiol Actions

5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-β-D-glucuronide sodium salt (X-GlcA), a colorless substrate for β-glucuronidase enzyme, generates a blue color at the end of the reaction.[5]
