General description

Zinc chloride in combination with 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride comprises a molten salt, which is employed in the electrodeposition studies of zinc.

Application

Zinc Chloride may be employed as a catalyst in Knoevenagel condensation of carbonyl compounds with active methylene group containing reagents. It may be used in the preparation of porous carbon nanofibers, useful in the fabrication of efficient electrodes for supercapacitors. It may be used as a catalyst in the preparation of poly(propylene fumarate).
