General description

Drometrizole trisiloxane (DRT) belongs to the lipophilic benzotriazole derivative class of compounds commonly utilized in sunscreen cosmetics.

Application

DRT may be used as a reference standard for the determination of DRT in:
  • Active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), formulations and stability samples by reversed phase ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (RP-UPLC) coupled to electrospray ionization-quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-QTOF-MS/MS).
  • Suncare formulations by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) detection.
  • Cosmetic products by LC-UV.
  • Sewage sludge samples by QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe) extraction procedure and gas chromatography combined with MS/MS.

Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
