General description

Vamidothion belongs to the class of organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) which act as cholinesterase inhibitors and are utilized for protection of crops against spiders, mites, aphids, beetles, caterpillars, etc.

Application

Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
Vamidothion may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in:
  • Aqueous samples by direct injection using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) as well as hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) with MS/MS.
  • Biological samples by gas chromatography in conjunction with mass-selective detection (GC-MSD).

The objective of this research was to study the residual levels of benomyl, methyl parathion, diuron, and vamidothion in pineapple bagasse and pulp. Benomyl (benlate), methyl parathion (Folidol 600), diuron (Krovar), and Vamidothion (Kilval 300) were applied pre-harvest to pineapples

A method combining hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) was developed for the determination of polar organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs; acephate, methamidophos, monocrotophos, omethoate, oxydemeton-methyl, and vamidothion) in water samples. To extract the polar OPPs and minimize
