General description
Poly(dA) is a polymer of polydeoxyadenylic acid and takes up a single stranded structure. It is susceptible to UV irradiation resulting in photoreaction due to the presence of adjacent deoxyadenylic acid units. Poly(dA) along with β-glucan is used for the conjugation and delivery of DNA into cell lines.
Application
Poly(dA) is suitable for use in:
- DNA polymerase assay and as a buffer component for the dilution of protein DNA complex for electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) studies
- as ssDNA substrate for DNA helicase gene 40 product (G40P) NTP hydrolysis
- in Pyrococcus abyssi DNA polymerase assay
