General description

Pollen allergen Phl p 2 (UniProt: P43214; also known as Allergen Phl p II, Phl p 2) is encoded by the PHLPII gene in Phleum pratense (Common timothy). Phl p2 binds to IgE and causes allergic reactions in human. Inntag 5 IT5 is a small protein domain of Phelum pratense that display strong structural determinants and does not generate solubility issues in vivo and in vitro. Also, it is not shown to compromise cell fitness when overexpressed and has no detectable functional and localization effects when fused to a variety of target proteins. Although the Inntag IT5 has a similar length to that of the Flag tag, it does not affect cell morphology and produces only very mild effect in the mean critical size at the G1/S transition compared to Flag tag. The structure of Inntag IT5 is based on a packed beta-sheet confirmation.

Specificity

Clone R19/8-11/18 detects Pollen allergen Phl p 2 in lysate from HEK293 cells transfected with GFP-IT5.

Immunogen

His-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to 96 amino acids of Pollen allergen Phl p 2 chain.

Application

Anti-Inntag 5 (IT5), clone R19/8-11/18 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that detects the Innocuous Inntag IT5 based on pollen allergen PhIp2 sequence and is tested for Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blotting.
