Gene Information

General description

The syndecans are transmembrane proteoglycans that place structurally heterogeneous heparan sulfate chains at the cell surface and a highly conserved polypeptide in the cytoplasm. Syntenin (also known as SDCBP) is an approximately 33 kDa scaffolding protein that that binds to kainate receptor subunits via a PDZ interaction. There is extensive colocalization of syntenin and kainate receptors with particularly intense labeling for both proteins at growth cones. It is proposed that syntenin has a role both in controlling membrane organization and in determining the formation and maturation of synapses.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human Syntenin-1. The immunogen has a 98% homology to Mouse and Rat.

Application

Detect Syntenin-1 using this Anti-Syntenin-1 Antibody, clone 4F4.1 validated for use in western blotting.

Exosomes are dynamic nanovesicles secreted by virtually all cells and are present in all biological fluids. Given their highly heterogeneous content exosomes have been implicated in many physiological and pathological processes that they exert by influencing cell-cell and cell-ECM communication.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
