Gene Information

General description

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein Q, commonly refered to as hnRNP Q, can be found as three different isoforms derived from alternative splicing of a single gene. This RNA binding protein is implicated in control of mRNA precursor splicing for the survival of motor neurons (SMN) protein. Loss-of-function mutations of SMN are linked to spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) a common neurodegenerative disease. It has been shown that hnRNP Q proteins interact with SMN, and this is interacton is required for efficient pre-mRNA splicing in vitro. Current data suggests that hnRNP Q is a splicing modulator of SMN.

Immunogen

Full length recombinant protein corresponding to human hnRNPQ.

Application

Anti-hnRNP Q Antibody, clone 7A11.2 is a Mouse Monoclonal Antibody for detection of hnRNP Q also known as heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein Q-like & has been validated in WB, ICC.
Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL from a representative lot detected hnRNP Q on 10 µg of PC-12 and HEK293 cell lysate.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected hnRNP Q in NIH/3T3, A431, and HeLa cells.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in NIH/3T3 cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected hnRNP Q on 10 µg of NIH/3T3 cell lysate.
