General description

Product Source: Baculovirus infected High-5 cells
Transforming Growth Factor- beta2 (TGF-beta2) is a member of a superfamily of homologous, disulfide-linked, homodimeric proteins that regulate the proliferation and differentiation of normal and transformed cells. Human TGF-beta2 is a 25.0 kDa protein with each subunit containing 112 amino acid residues.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Determined by its ability to inhibit the mouse IL-4-dependent proliferation of mouse HT-2 cells. The ED(50) was found to be ≤0.2ng/ml

Physical form

Lyophilized from Sodium Citrate, pH 3.5.

Storage and Stability

The lyophilized powder is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with water to a concentration of 50 μg/ml (e.g., 5 μg/100 μl), this will yield a solution of 1 mM citrate buffer pH 3.5 This solution can then be stored at room temperature or at 2-8ºC for 1 month. It is recommended that further dilutions be made into PBS containing 2 mg/ml albumin and stored at -20ºC. Reconstituted human TGF-beta2 should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C for at least 2 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Inflammasomes are protein platforms linking recognition of microbe, pathogen-associated and damage-associated molecular patterns by cytosolic sensory proteins to caspase-1 activation. Caspase-1 promotes pyroptotic cell death and the maturation and secretion of interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18, which trigger inflammatory responses to
