General description

Anti-GTAP, rabbit polyclonal, recognizes the ~67 kDa GTAP protein in HEK293 cells. It is validated for use in Western blotting.
Protein A purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~67 kDa GTAP protein.
Recognizes the ~67 kDa GTAP protein in HEK293 cells.

  • The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes (E1s), ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes (E2s), and ubiquitin-protein ligases (E3s). GTAP is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. GTAP may participate in intercellular adhesion and embryonic development. GTAP is thought to play a role in stem cell development via its regulation of laminin-dependent embryonic cell adhesion and the formation of embryoid bodies.

    Immunogen

A synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 7-22 (QGQQQPGPGQQLGGQG) of human GTAP, conjugated to KLH.
    Human

    Application

    Immunoblotting (3-10 g/ml)

    Warning

    Toxicity: Regulatory Review (Z)

    Physical form

    In PBS.

    Reconstitution

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).

    Other Notes

Due to a high degree of sequence identity, this antibody is also expected to react with mouse and rat GTAP. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.
