General description

A-kinase anchoring protein 79 (AKAP 79) is a scaffolding protein that resides predominantly in excitatory neuronal synapses. AKAP 79 interacts with membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) to be used by glutamate receptors. AKAP 79 may also be involved with SAP97 and other large signaling complexes. AKAP 79 is essential for forskolin-induced up-regulation of L-current.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes AKAP 79 at the C-terminus.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human AKAP 79.

Application

Detect AKAP 79 using this Anti-AKAP 79 Antibody validated for use in WB.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in HEK293 cell lysate with overexpressed N-terminal Flag-AKAP79.

Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected AKAP 79 on 10 µg of HEK293 cell lysate with overexpressed N-terminal Flag-AKAP79.

Target description

~79 kDa observed.
AKAP79 migrates in WB with an apparent molecular weight of ~79 kDa Uncharacterized bands appear at ~35 kDa and ~13 kDa in some lysates.

Analysis Note
