Gene Information

human ... OLFM4(10562)

General description

OLFM4, also known as Olfactomedin-4, Antiapoptotic protein GW112, G-CSF-stimulated clone 1 protein (hGC-1), or hOLfD, and encoded by the gene OLFM4/GW112 is a multimeric protein that has been found both extracellularly, interacting with cell surface lectins and cadherin proteins, and intracellularly within the mitochondria and cytoplasm. OLFM4 is expressed during myeloid lineage development but also in found in adult prostate, bone marrow, and stomach, as well as pancreatic cancer cells. The protein appears to govern cell proliferation in pancreatic cancer cells however in leukemic cell lines it inhibits cell growth and induces cell differentiation and apoptosis. The gene is induced by retinoic acid contact and signaling is linked via the NFkappaB pathway.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human Olfactomedin-4/OLFM4.

Application

Anti-Olfactomedin-4/OLFM4 Antibody is an antibody against Olfactomedin-4/OLFM4 for use in western blotting & IHC.

Western Blotting Analysis: 2.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected Olfactomedin-4/OLFM4 in 10 µg of human liver tissue lysate.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected Olfactomedin-4/OLFM4 in human pancreatic cancer sections and human prostate tissue.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in human small intestine tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 2.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected Olfactomedin-4/OLFM4 in 10 µg of human small intestine tissue lysate.

Target description

~64 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 57 kDa, but can be observed at ~64 kDa due to high glycosylation.
