Gene Information

human ... TUBD1(51174)

General description

Tubulin, the dimeric subunit of microtubules, is submitted to post translational modifications including cyclic tyrosine removal and addition at the COOH terminus of the alpha subunit. The cycle involves two enzymes, TTL (Tubuline Tyrosine Ligase) and Tubulin carboxypeptidase, and generates two major forms: tyrosinated tubulin and detyrosinated tubulin (Glu-tubulin). Removal of the COOH-terminal Glu residue from the alpha chain of Glu-tubulin generates the delta2-tubulin form.

Specificity

The antibody specifically recognizes the delta 2 form of the tubulin alpha chain (Paturle-Lafanechere et al. 1991).

SPECIES REACTIVITY:

Mammals, sea urchin, plants, not yeast (Lafanechere et al. 1994).

Immunogen

Peptide corresponding to the C-terminal of delta 2 tubulin.

Posttranslational modifications (PTMs) such as acetylation, detyrosination, and polyglutamylation have long been considered markers of stable microtubules and have recently been proposed to guide molecular motors to specific subcellular destinations. Microtubules can be deglutamylated by the cytosolic carboxypeptidase CCP1. Loss

Phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) catalyzes the interconversion of fructose-6-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate, which impacts cell carbon metabolic flow. Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) contains two nuclear PGI genes respectively encoding plastidial PGI1 and cytosolic PGI (cPGI). The loss of PGI1 impairs the conversion of
