General description

A stable-labeled internal standard suitable for quantitation of lorazepam levels in urine, serum, or plasma by LC/MS or GC/MS for urine drug testing, clinical toxicology, or forensic analysis. Lorazepam, also known by trade names Ativan® or Orfidal, is a benzodiazepine often prescribed for treatment of anxiety disorders.

Application

  • Application in toxicological analysis: Lorazepam-d₄ was utilized as an analytical reference standard in a study aimed at the detection and quantification of lorazepam in human hair by GC-MS/NCI, assisting in forensic investigations related to traffic accidents (Cirimele et al., 1996).

  • Confirmation of urinary benzodiazepine metabolites: A research paper detailed the use of Lorazepam-d₄ in GC-MS methodologies to confirm the presence of benzodiazepine metabolites in urine, providing crucial data for both clinical and forensic settings (Meatherall, 1994).
