General description

Suitable uses for this certified solution standard include as an internal standard for quantitation of levetiracetam levels in biological matrices such as urine or isotope dilution methods by LC/MS or GC/MS for clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, or forensic analysis applications. Levetiracetam, marketed under the trade name Keppra®, is an antiepileptic drug used primarily for treatment of seizures along with occasional use in treating neuropathic pain.

Application

  • Therapeutic Drug Monitoring: Levetiracetam-D₆ solution is used as a stable isotopic label in the fully validated method for determining lacosamide concentrations in human plasma. Utilizing gas chromatography with mass spectrometry, this technique supports precise therapeutic drug monitoring, ensuring optimal dosing and management of epilepsy treatments (Nikolaou et al., 2015).
