General description

Ganciclovir is a guanine-analogue, antiviral drug indicated for the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6). Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of ganciclovir concentrations in patient serum is performed to avoid concentration-related adverse effects such as hepatic and renal toxicity and to evaluate drug adsorption. This Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable for use as starting materials in the preparation of calibrators, controls, or linearity standards for a variety of LC-MS/MS or GC/MS testing methods in TDM, pharmaceutical research and clinical and diagnostic testing applications.
