Application

1-Bromo-1-propene upon n-BuLi treatment generates the propynyllithium anion, in situ, which later undergoes nucleophilic addition reactions.[1] Some of its other applications are:
  • Synthesis of organic reagents such as methyl but-2-ynoate[1] and 1-iodopropyne.[2]
  • Preparation o f intermediates in the total synthesis of (+)-aphanamol I[3] and skyllamycins A-C.[4]
  • Synthesis of allylated pyrazoles[5], aryl alkynyl sulfides[6] and allenamides.[7]
