Poly(acrylamide) is a water-soluble polymer made up of acrylamide subunits. Polyacrylamides have been reported to be protein resistant and biocompatible. Polyacrylamides have been used as carriers for delivery of drugs and bioactive compounds, or to as tissue engineering materials. Additionally, polycacrylamides have been used to increase the viscosity of water and facilitate the flocculation of particles present in water.
