Application

β-Cyclodextrin, a water-soluble cyclic oligosaccharide consisting of seven α-(1,4)-linked glucopyranose subunits, is used in the preparation of:
  • Linear cationic β-cyclodextrin-based polymers (β-CDPs) and polycationic β-cyclodextrin ‘click clusters′ for gene delivery applications.
  • Multiresponsive supramolecular nanogated ensemble by grafting onto mesoporous silica for controlled release of trapped molecules.
  • EDTA-cross-linked β-cyclodextrin (EDTA-β-CD) bifunctional adsorbent for simultaneous adsorption of metals and dyes.
  • β-Cyclodextrin derived siRNA delivery vector for gene silencing.
  • β-CD chiral stationary phase (CCNCSP) for the enantioseparation of chiral drugs by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
