General description

Copper molybdate CuMoO4 can exists in two polymorphic forms, stable-α form and metastable-γ form. It exhibits properties such as thermochromic, trisochromic and piezochromic. Pure α-phase copper molybdate can be prepared by the sol-gel method using citric acid, ammonium heptamolybdate (NH4)6Mo7O24 . 4H2O, copper salts CuX2nH2O (X=NO3- ), Cl- and CH3COO-.
