Application

Bis(triphenylsilyl) chromate [(Ph3SiO)2] can be used as a catalyst:
  • For ethylene polymerization.
  • For the conversion of secondary benzylic and allylic trimethylsilyl ethers to ketones by oxidation reaction using tert-butyl hydroperoxide.

It can also be used to prepare supported catalysts with silica gel or montmorillonite K-10. These catalysts can be used in the oxidation of alcohols to corresponding carbonyl compounds.
Reactant for the XPS and XRD characterization of chromium-silica catalysts

Silyl chromate catalyst for
  • Olefin polymerization and ethylene polymerization
  • Benzylic oxidations used as a phase transfer catalyst
