Lithium dimethylamide is used as a reagent in the synthesis of boron-nitrogen heterocycles[1] and 2,2′?diborabiphenyl.[2] It is a deprotecting agent which is employed in demethylation of bis(imino)pyridine ferrous dichloride for synthesizing ferrous amide-ate complexes.[3]
