General description

Pyrimidine is a heterocyclic compound with excellent stability. It is used in manufacture of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyes. [1]

Application

Pyrimidine was used to assess the extent of pyrimidine/purine asymmetry quantitatively[2]. It was also used to study the photoinduced ion chemistry of the halogenated pyrimidines, a class of prototype radiosensitizing molecules[3].
